Sweden was to be the second country we'd visit on this Nordic trip. Having come from a week hiking, driving across fjords and seeing snowcapped peaks and waterfalls we know it'd be tough to impress. Perhaps in hindsight we should have planned this trip in reverse then each country would have been more exciting to us than the previous. Having said that the weather was milder, we even got some nice sunny days and it did seem to be a very safe, nice and peaceful place.
We had just a couple of days in Stockholm but we set about exploring the many buildings, architecture, pretty streets and parks. In one of these
large park islands they have the Vasa museum. This museum hosts a very impressive 17th century war ship which has been preserved by the mud in which it was found. It is truly
impressive to view and walk around such a large old ship and see the detail which has been put into it. 98% of the ship is original with only some minor parts having to be
recreated, it was of course underwater for over 330 years.
From here we spent the rest of our time exploring quaint little coffee shops, enjoying ice creams given the warmer weather and then being lucky enough to catch a group of
street performers playing reggae.
Next we hopped on a flight To Copenhagen, Denmark to continue our Nordic adventure.
