Our trip out to Budapest was another little birthday abroad. We'd had a few bigger trips this year but wanted
to make sure we squeezed something in to keep up my tally of always being away on my birthday. What better place to choose for this
than the boozy and cheap city of Budapest. One thing I hadn't accounted for was that Hungary and specifically Budapest are extremely
bad places for hay fever sufferers due to it having a weed pollen bloom in summer. This meant that I had a lot of nosebleeds and streaming
eyes among other things during our time here. Especially as we climbed up to the citadel.
During our time here we visited the Danube Promenade Memorial (row of shoes to respect the lives of those lost in the holocaust), castle
hill, Fisherman's Bastion, St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika), Matthias Church, Heroes' Square, Citadel, tried traditional
Hungarian food at Central Market Hall, strolled along Andrássy Avenue to Heroes and visited Vajdahunyad Castle.
Another short birthday trip away to break up the years bigger travels complete.
