We arrived in Germany from Zurich by road. Interestingly the border police leaving Switzerland had been very interested on where we were going,
how much cash we had and what we were carrying. As soon as they had realised that we were English they immediately had questions for us. After not long we did pass into
the country without issue, however it was a surprise, something we'd have expected in less developed countries. We weren't planning to spend long in Germany. A quick
simple nip around Lake Constance from Zurich through Germany, Austria and then into Liechenstein before heading the next day back to Zurich.
Our planned stop in Germany, Meersburg. A historic old town on the banks of the lake with one of Germanies oldest wineries. Upon arrival it was raining a bit, typical
of more northern europe even in July. We took a self guided walking tour of the sights, Meersburg isn't that big so this only took us about twenty minutes. As we dropped
down to join the main road, grab a glass of wine and leave Meersburg we stumbled upon the yearly Meersburg wine festival. Having not much than one year before had the same
fate in Italy and it being a very good experience we decided to stay and sample some local wines, have some curry-wurst and fries as a nice little lunch stop.
Next stop we headed through Austria and into Liechtenstein for the night.
